A LEADERSHIP AND WELLNESS PROGRAM

Journey Square

Our SOLEFX Journey program consists of nine one-hour Adventure lessons. Our topics have been carefully crafted and ordered, based on our years of research. Each Adventure has a SWITCH challenge, based on our slogan SWITCH the Story (replacing unhealthy habits with healthier ones), Live Your Adventure (doing what you passionately love to purposefully impact others).

Journey leaders have digital presentations to use with their students for each Adventure. Students all receive a Leadership Guidebook providing program information, a pre/post leadership assessment, how to be a supportive team participant, and a place to track their goals. In addition, they receive eight Student Adventure Maps not only to interact with, but to reference after the program. Students receive a Leadership Certificate upon successful completion.

OVERVIEW OF AN ADVENTURE (LESSON)

Adventure-4-1

Students start off with Question Connection. During these few minutes, they track their progress on their goals and share small successes with their team, providing accountability and support. These questions also allow students to get to know each other while building stronger relationships.

With clearly-defined objectives, each Adventure is designed around experiential learning, providing a systematic approach using L.E.A.D. steps. LEARN, ENGAGE, REACT, and DEVELOP.

Next, the Adventure concepts are presented in the LEARN section in a ten-minute video (optional) with inspirational college Lead Guides.  Here they learn information about the topic and three realistic strategies to switch from an unhealthy habit to a healthier habit.

Now that students have a thorough understanding of the Adventure’s concepts, students independently ENGAGE in self-reflections such as assessments, open-ended questionnaires and rating scales.

Trained peer guides facilitate team discussions using questions from the REACT section. In these conversations, students realize they are not alone in their challenges, learn new strategies from each other, and provide accountability and support.

Lastly, DEVELOP allows students to review strategies, create their GPS (in Leadership Guidebook, not shown), set goals based on new strategies they learned, track their progress, and build upon their successes.
